My name is Darius Arthur Heisenberg and I’m an agent for a Keeper of Time who calls herself Sacrifice. I don’t get paid, but I have my own room and all the nutrient mush I want to eat. My supervisor is a sarcastic computer I named Kim, and my instructors are a gruff, giant hamster and a slimy, tentacled blob, none of whom are quite sure why I was recruited in the first place.

But, hey, people say it’s the little things in life that are important.

Take this disk I found, for example. It’s no bigger than a quarter, yet it was the key to preventing billions of deaths on Earth in around two hundred years. Only problem is, now that I found it, it’s not performing its task anymore and I have to fix it before everything I’ve ever cared about ceases to exist.

Did I mention my job comes with more than a moderate amount of stress?

Stop right where you are before reading this book, if you haven't read Knot In Time already. This new series is so well written, enjoyable, and imaginative, you don't want to miss any of it. I have been searching for good, wholesome, but enticing science fiction books to recommend to my middle school aged granddaughter for the past few months. I saw Knot in Time as a special offer by my book club and decided to give it a try. Let me just say, as soon as I finished the first book, I ordered the second, Abandon Hope. Let me make a confession here, this second book wasn't ordered with my granddaughter in mind, but to satisfy my curiosity as to what could and would happen in the following book. I enjoyed Knot in Time so much, the characters are so well developed and interesting, the situations exciting and fascinating, that I was disappointed when I finished the second book, Abandon Hope, that the next one hasn't been written yet! I have decided to give Alan Tucker 's other books a try, to fill the gap until number 3 in this series is released. I highly recommend this series, to young adults as well as older ones. Tastefully written. Well done!

Abandon Hope Tales of Uncertainty Book 2 eBook Alan Tucker Reviews

This is an excellent piece of sci-fi. It really takes String Theory and makes a realistic and wonderfully twisted tale out of it. (Sorry for the pun.) Not that I am a supporter of said theory, but if it were to work, this series of stories definitely gives some light on its possibilities.
I enjoyed reading this book. It seems like there would be more, if so I will definitely read the sequels. I did not find any objectionable content. Great time filler. I like the characters. I have no reservations in recommending this book. (and yes this is the same review I submitted for Book #1)
This is the second in the series after Knot in Time. It ties in seamlessly and keeps up the wonderful bizarre story. I found myself unable to put it down, wanting to know if everyone was going to make it and if the threads of time be would forever changed or if they could be fixed before it was too late. Have not yet looked to see if there's more in the series, but I'm seriously hoping so.
This is a fun sequel. Mr. Tucker had my head spinning once or twice as various time threads intertwined and created some unexpected circumstances (and appearances). The action kept me engaged, and the humor kept me chuckling. But it’s the characters who really pulled me along. Especially when they showed up in... Well, I'll let you read it. I’m going to go grab the last book.

Recommended for ages 14+ due to some language and sexual reference.
Oh, what a disappointment. After doing such a great job on the first book, we are left with something that looks more like an interlude than a story. People were lost (including Hope), objectives were not accomplished, and no redeeming issue was confronted. This includes a tale of teenage love, but look at the cover! Those don't look like teenagers, and I don't see Mocha (read the story to figure out what I mean). It's still an entertaining read, but nowhere near the quality of the first book.
I gave Knot in Time (Tales of Uncertainty Book 1) glowing reviews and a five star rating. I wish I could say the same for this book, but alas it is a pale continuation of the first book. In my opinion, this should have been part of the same book, not a separate one. The story is a continuation of the first, the characters are all the same as the first, the plot continues from the first, and only at the end do we get any originality. It is still a good read, but nothing new until the last few chapters.
Dare and Lauri have a mission ... and so do Dare and Lauri?! When two threads of time collide, things get really complicated. Are the Keepers trying to help humanity? Are they at war? Or is it all just a game to them?

I loved book one, and the whole premise of this one fascinated me. Time travel twists are such fun to explore. Tucker's world-building was great in this sequel, right down to the slang and fashion trends. I enjoyed the ride--both the exciting action and the intriguing psychological implications. Not to be punny, but there were a few too many threads left untied at the end for me to feel like the book was quite done in itself, but it does leave me wanting more.
